About Starrett The L.S Starrett Company has been a continuous symbol of leadership and dependable service in the manufacture of fine precision tools for over 130 years worldwide. The first combination square was invented in 1877 by L.S Starrett. The line has now expanded to over 5000 products and are used wherever metals and other materials are cut off, laid out, machined, inspected and assembled. The Starrett range includes micrometers, verniers, hole saws, hacksaw blades, welded and coiled saw blades, dial indicators and gauges to name just a few. There is a Starrett instrument to suit your needs. Starrett's head office is located in America, with manufacturing divisions in Scotland, Brazil and China. The Australian division of L.S Starrett began in 1998 in Sydney, New South Wales and New Zealand operations commenced in 2005.
